AbstractThis work presents the RadioRay System, a hibrid model that combines the radiosity method with ray tracing, which aims to simulate the global illumination in computer generated images. It is proposed a new technique called Progressive Technique with Fixed Number of Steps, which allows arbitrary geometry to be used in the scene description. Since a hibrid radiosity/ray tracing model is adopted it is possible to compute the light propagation on diffuse and specular surfaces.
