		<abstract>This paper presents the radiosity method as part of a photorealistic image synthesis environment, called PROSIM  Photorealistic Image Synthesis and Prototyping. The basic theory of the radiosity method, as well as some of its extensions, are presented. The implementation of such methods are discussed and finally, some results are shown, in order to demonstrate the potential of the radiosity approach.</abstract>
